Fresh green fruit on the nose, green, ripe and rich palate. Good delicate oil, very balanced in the mouth, the consumer will love this oil.
About Mount Ceder Olive Grove:
Mount Ceder is surrounded by the dramatic Cederberg Mountains with majestic views and the crystal clear Grootrivier flowing through the farm. The Cape Leopard and Reebok live in tranquillity amongst the 52 ha of olive trees. Here at Mount Ceder the combination of the Karoo soil, good quality irrigation water, very hot summer, very cold winter with little rain and the employees’ absolute involvement contributed to our award-winning EVOO.
This is our first year producing our own oil.
Oil Maker & 2017 Harvest:
Andre Marais has been a shareholder of Mount Ceder since 1997 and personally involved with the planning and planting of our olive trees. He is also responsible for the oil that is made for Cederberg Olives and Mount Ceder. The success of our Gold Award Winning Oil can be attributed to the fact that Andre is involved with the entire process from picking to crushing, to where the oil flows out of the machine, and this is where his joy and passion lies. We had an average good quality crop this year with dry and warm to cool weather during the harvest period.
