About Green & Gold Olive Estate:
Green & Gold Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced on Diepsak farm which is situated alongside the Breede River in the Scherpenheuwel Valley – an undiscovered and richly fertile tract of land that yields premium fruit.
Green & Gold was first released in 2009 and immediately won a gold award at the SA Olive oil awards. Since then the blends have won awards every year that the oil has been submitted to the SA awards.
Oil Maker & 2017 Harvest:
Sandy Jeffery has been farming olives since 1999 and blending oils since 2009. He has completed various oil courses in South Africa and prides himself as only bottling the best of the oils the farm produces. The 2017 harvest was a difficult one with fruit ripening unevenly and weather conditions producing oils with vastly differing characteristics.
A delicious oil with herbaceous and fresh cut grassy notes complemented with a medium pepper and bitterness.
Pairs well with many foods due to it being a medium intensity oil. Pour lavishly over a green salad and add a touch of reduced balsamic for a delicious dressing.
