The time has come to mark off this important date on the calendar. The 17th annual SA Olive Awards will take place on Thursday, 8th September 2022 at the picturesque Laborie Wine Estate in Paarl.
The SA Olive Awards is a major event for the South African olive industry as it acknowledges the commitment, effort and excellence of the country’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) producers.
The judging of all EVOOs that have been entered into the competition will take place between the 22nd and 26th of August 2022 at Klein Joostenberg, near Stellenbosch. All entries will be assessed by a panel of well-known international and local judges, all of whom are olive industry experts. Leading the SA Olive Awards judging panel for the second consecutive year is Aldo Mazzini from Italy.
Once all entries have been judged, the highest-scoring gold medal winners will be entered into an additional round of judging and the top EVOOs will be selected for the prestigious Absa Top 10 Awards, which take place on the 7th of October 2022.
